During high school, I supported my expensive passion for filmmaking with my own Bar Mitzvah and wedding video service.
May 2010

During my senior year of high school, my friend Gabi and I were put in charge of the Homecoming Video, an annual tradition. The film was screened to the entire Upper School student body and faculty. As the film’s director, I experienced the challenges of leading a large crew for the first time. Here's the trailer!
November 2008

I created the only news and variety program of St. John’s School, now in its fifth year of production. Every year, we produced three fifteen-minute episodes that attracted an audience of hundreds of students and faculty. My senior year, I recruited and trained a staff of fifteen students to continue MavTV after I graduate. I also convinced the Upper School principal to sponsor MavTV as an official school activity. I won the Paradigm Film Club Award two years in a row for MavTV, and in 2008, MavTV won the award for “Most Outstanding Independent Study Project” in the entire Upper School. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston awarded it 2nd place in the Houston’s Young Moviemakers competition. Here is the trailer for the Spring 2009 episode.
